Postcard from Germany.

Interactive water museum in a landmark 164-ft. water tower with views of the Ruhr Valley.
The Aquarius Water Museum in Styrum , a district of Mülheim an der Ruhr , is located in a disused water tower and is part of the Route of Industrial Heritage .Built by August Thyssen in 1892/93, the 50 -meter-high tower to supply its nearby tubular and rolling mills and the community Styrum and later converted into a museum.
Since 1992 ,this award-winning museum offers a multimedia experience on the origin, circulation and manifestations of water on 14 levels and 30 stations . With a smart card you can access numerous computer simulations, movies and games.
A special attraction is the ride with the glass elevators, one of which passes through the water tank, which used to hold 500,000 liters of water. From the approximately 40 meter high glass walk you can look at the Ruhr Valley , the cities of Mülheim, Duisburg , Oberhausen , Essen and Bottrop .
Thank you Beatrix for the interesting card.
