The Archaeological Heritage of Niah National Park’s Caves Complex, Malaysia.

This complex of colossal, interconnected caverns is located near the west coast of Borneo Island at the centre of Niah National Park. It contains the longest known records of human interaction with rainforest, spanning at least 50,000 years, from the Pleistocene to the Mid-Holocene periods. The rich archaeological deposits, prehistoric rock paintings and boat-shaped burials found at the northern edge of the massif illustrate biological and human life during this time, and contribute greatly to the knowledge of human development, adaptation and migration in southeast Asia, as well as in a global context. Local communities still observe an ancient tradition of molong –‘take only what you need’-when harvesting guano and valuable edible bird’s nests from the caves.

The Jubilee Clock Tower is an Moorish-style Jubilee clocktower located at the intersection of Light Street and Beach Street in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Built to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria, the tower is sixty feet to the centre of the clock, one foot for each year of Victoria's reign.

Fort Cornwallis is a bastion fort in George Town, Penang, Malaysia, built by the British East India Company in the late 18th century. Named after the then Lieutenant-General The 2nd Earl Cornwallis, the Governor-General of Bengal at the time of the fort's construction, it is the largest standing fort in Malaysia.

Kinabalu Park,Malaysia.

Kinabalu Park, in the State of Sabah on the northern end of the island of Borneo, is dominated by Mount Kinabalu (4,095 m), the highest mountain between the Himalayas and New Guinea. It has a very wide range of habitats, from rich tropical lowland and hill rain forest to tropical mountain forest, sub-alpine forest and scrub on the higher elevations.

The legacy of the Dutch is still very much alive and felt in Malacca in a form of a red building called the Stadhuys.It was built in 1650 as the official residence of the Dutch Governors and their officers.Now it houses the Historical Museum and Ethnography Museum displaying fine bridal costume and relics from the glorious past of Malacca or Melaca.

Gunung Mulu National Park,Malaysia.

Important both for its high biodiversity and for its karst features, Gunung Mulu National Park, on the island of Borneo in the State of Sarawak, is the most studied tropical karst area in the world. The 52,864-ha park contains seventeen vegetation zones, exhibiting some 3,500 species of vascular plants. Its palm species are exceptionally rich, with 109 species in twenty genera noted. The park is dominated by Gunung Mulu, a 2,377 m-high sandstone pinnacle. At least 295 km of explored caves provide a spectacular sight and are home to millions of cave swiftlets and bats. The Sarawak Chamber is the largest known cave chamber in the world.
