ONE POSTCARD ON POSTER FROM BRITISH EMPIRE.

GIBRALTER-This print formed part of a campaign commissioned in the late 1920s by the Empire Marketing Board and is the work of Charles Pears (1873-1958), a British painter, illustrator and artist.
A commissioned officer in the Royal Marines during the First World War, Pears  worked as an official War Artist during both the First and Second World Wars.
The posters featured were intended to promote trade within the British Empire, painting an idealised view of life in its colonies and dominions. The original posters are held at The National Archives, UK.
