The 'Koranic School' came into being under various names in all
the countries of the Middle East, It is the traditional school to teach Quran.
In Sudan it is known as KHALWA. It was a natural answer to the need
to help illiterate Muslims to learn the Koran without which they can
neither perform the rites of their faith nor get to know the text of
its laws and rules.
