Yellowstone National Park,USA.

Yellowstone National Park is a nearly 3,500-sq.-mile wilderness recreation area atop a volcanic hot spot. Mostly in Wyoming, the park spreads into parts of Montana and Idaho too. Yellowstone features dramatic canyons, alpine rivers, lush forests, hot springs and gushing geysers, including its most famous, Old Faithful. It's also home to hundreds of animal species, including bears, wolves, bison, elk and antelope. This beautiful, mesmeric postcard on Midway Geyser Basin seen from above was posted in Yellowstone National Park Post office by my brother Prof K V Bhat

The vast natural forest of Yellowstone National Park covers nearly 9,000 square kilometres  of natural forest.  Yellowstone contains half of all the world's known geothermal features, with more than 10,000 examples. It also has the world's largest concentration of geysers (more than 300 geysers, or two thirds of all those on the planet).Nearly 150 species of fossil plants have been discovered within the park. Established in 1872, Yellowstone is equally known for its wildlife, such as grizzly bears, wolves, bison and wapitis.                  Ref: 28
