Nemrut Dağ,Turkey.

Crowning one of the highest peaks of the Eastern Taurus mountain range in south-east Turkey, Nemrut Dağ is the Hierotheseion (temple-tomb and house of the gods) built by the late Hellenistic King Antiochos I of Commagene (69-34 B.C.) as a monument to himself. The mausoleum of Antiochus I, who reigned over Commagene, a kingdom founded north of Syria and the Euphrates after the breakup of Alexander's empire, is one of the most ambitious constructions of the Hellenistic period. The  amalgamation  of different religions, cultures and the lineage of its kings, which can be traced back through two sets of legends, Greek and Persian, is evidence of the dual origin of this kingdom's culture

Historic Areas of Istanbul,Turkey.

      Sultanahmet Mosque
1 Hagia Sophia Mosque
The prophet of God in Muslim religion, Muhammad, had prophesied that the first Muslim to pray in Hagia Sophia would go to paradise. Since then, it was a great ambition for Muslim leaders to get Hagia Sophia.
2 Sultan Ahmed Mosque(Blue Mosque)
The Sultan Ahmed Mosque  is a historic mosque located in Istanbul, Turkey. A popular tourist site, the Sultan Ahmed Mosque continues to function as a mosque today; men still kneel in prayer on the mosque's lush red carpet after the call to prayer. The Blue Mosque, as it is popularly known, was constructed between 1609 and 1616 during the rule of Ahmed I.Hand-painted blue tiles adorn the mosque’s interior walls, and at night the mosque is bathed in blue as lights frame the mosque’s five main domes, six minarets and eight secondary domes.
3 Ortaköy Mosque
It was commissioned by the son-in-law of Vizier Ibrahim Pasha. Built in 1721, it was ruined during the Patrona Halil Uprising. The current mosque, which was erected in its place, was ordered by the Ottoman sultan Abdülmecid and built between 1854 and 1856, on the ruins of the Cantemir Palace. Its architects were Armenian father and son Garabet Amira Balyan and Nigoğayos Balyan, who designed it in the Neo-Baroque style.
4 Maiden's Tower
The Maiden's Tower also known as Leander's Tower (Tower of Leandros) since the medieval Byzantine period, is a tower lying on a small islet located at the southern entrance of the Bosphorus strait 200 meters from the coast of Üsküdar in Istanbul, Turkey.

2015 International Year of Light-Issue Date: 02.03.2015

Sunlight is an essential life requirement for humans, animals and plants. Light in general is also a key issue in science and culture. The United Nations has declared 2015 the International Year of Light: 1000 years ago, it was first proved that light sources emit radiation, exactly 200 years ago, the natural wave of light was discovered and the quantum theory of light 110 years ago. Experimenting with light has awoken curiosity for science. The special stamp "play of light"  allows the viewer to perform three experiments with respect to the mentioned anniversaries. Thanks to the fluorescent colour of the background the stamp glows in the dark. It is a light source, if it has been irradiated by the sun. The wave theory can be observed by holding the stamp in front of a light source. The micro-perforations in the paper are clearly visible in the light waves that are diffracted by the small openings. For the experiment, the quantum theory of pink curve was printed in the background of the globe with a special colour. Upon irradiation with UV light, the colour changes from pink to violet.

Val d'Orcia,Italy.

The landscape of Val d’Orcia is part of the agricultural hinterland of Siena, redrawn and developed when it was integrated in the territory of the city-state in the 14th and 15th centuries. It reflects an idealised model of good governance and  an aesthetically pleasing picture. The landscape with flat chalk plains out of which rise almost conical hills with fortified settlements on top, inspired many artists. These images exemplify the beauty of well-managed Renaissance agricultural landscapes. It covers an agrarian and pastoral landscape consisting of innovative land-management systems, towns and villages, farmhouses, abbeys, inns, shrines, bridges, etc.

Paphos,Cyprus.

This heritage site is  situated in the District of Paphos in western Cyprus. It  is a serial archaeological property consisting of three components at two sites: the town of Kato Paphos (Site I), and the village of Kouklia (Site II). Kato Paphos includes the remains of ancient Nea Paphos (Aphrodite’s Sacred City) and of the Kato Paphos necropolis known as Tafoi ton Vasileon (“Tombs of the Kings”), further to the north. The village of Kouklia includes the remains of the Temple of Aphrodite (Aphrodite’s Sanctuary) and Palaepaphos (Old Paphos). Because of their great antiquity, and because they are closely and directly related to the cult and legend of Aphrodite (Venus), who under the influence of Homeric poetry became the ideal of beauty and love, inspiring writers, poets, and artists throughout human history, these two sites can indeed be considered to be of outstanding universal value.

The Gates of Imam AL Khdumain Shrine Baghdad,Iraq.

The city of Al-Kadhimiya was considered an important center for knowledge and religious  awareness for a long  time, and many of Shia Islam and Sunni Islam’s prominent scholars were from this city.
During the Buyid dynasty, who are considered to be Shia Muslims, they ordered the establishment of Al-Kadhimiya mosque and shrine, over the tombs of Imam Al-Kadhim and Imam Al-Jawad.
In the present time, the city of Al-Kadhimiya is considered one of the holiest places for Shia Muslims.. The shrine of these two Imams is considered the biggest shrine of Shia Imams in Iraq, and  Shia Muslims from all over the world travel to this place to pray to God and ask these two Imams to intercede on their behalf to solve their problems and fulfill their wishes. Therefore, one of the titles of these two Imams according to Shia traditions is: Gate of wishes or requisites.

Pont du Gard (Roman Aqueduct),France.

This was built shortly before the Christian era to allow the aqueduct of Nîmes (which is almost 50 km long) to cross the Gard river. The Roman architects and hydraulic engineers who designed this bridge, which stands almost 50 metre high and is on three levels – the longest measuring 275 metre – created a technical as well as an artistic masterpiece.
