Post card from Indonesia.

One of the stamp is on Kalimantan which is the Indonesian portion of the island of Borneo,
It is often spelled Klemantan and is derived from Sanskrit word: Kalamanthana which means "burning weather island". It consists of the two words kal[a] (time, season, period) and manthan[a] (boiling, churning, burning).
In 2015,UNESCO recognised three genres of traditional dance in Bali, Indonesia, as Intangible cultural heritage. They are Wali (sacred dances), Bebali (semi-sacred dances) and Balih-balihan (dances for entertainment purposes). In Bali there are various categories of dance including epic performances such as the omnipresent Mahabharata and Ramayana. Thank you Shinta for sending this beautiful card showcasing richly attired Balenese dancers as Hindu Princesses.
